If I had a little better direction or some one on one with somebody that’s actually done this I may have come out with a little better results but I was I did was go up on the videos and try to pay attention to the key points. i’m sure they’ll be some alterations needed at some point but if you have more input on the shielded wire recommendation I would gladly listen and replace the wires that are needed and I spent a couple hours today trying to make a small harness to run from the CNC control box over to the power control box so that I can control the VFD. also I’m assuming once I hook up the VFD all the manual start stop and speeds that were originally on this model should be removed is that correct?

My plan to make the harness to go from the VFD over to the acorn. what is the simply use some 14 or 16 gauge wire eight of them to be exact zip tie them together put them in a little conduit and shoot them through the top of the boxes do I need to worry about that while you’re being shielded or that harness basically being shielded

Step and direction signal wires should be shielded, twisted pair wires. Servo drive power wires should be shielded. Spindle wires between motor and VFD should be shielded.

Shields should be grounded at least at the signal origin end. There are two religions on whether shields should be grounded at one end or both. I belong to the both cult, but your mileage may vary.

All grounds should run to a common point; commonly cslled star grounding.

OK well my depth and direction cables and the power to them I believe is shielded though it’s not grounded but those don’t even run in the cabinet I have my boards completely at the bottom, so for the eight wires I need going from the VFD over to the Acorn I need to find a cable that has eight wires in it with a shield going around it that I can tie the shielded wire to the star grounding point is that correct??

Also I’m not sure if anybody can help me here but I’m trying to tune the clear path Servos I started with Z and I keep getting this message about 3/4 of the way in I know it’s not binding or stuck I have my Gibbs strips almost close to all the way out, when I put it in the pendant mode and move it with my wireless pendant there’s no binding at all all the way up and down smooth but then when I go back to the auto tune it can’t make it through the process

I was told by the Arizona Cnc Dave also Marty that the one I’m using is more than enough I believe it to 1300 ounce of torque, Ballscrew pitch I’m not sure I just ordered it with the kit from Arizona Cnc and when I was purchasing it he communicated quite a bit but now that I’m trying to communicate with them I hear nothing
