Figured I would just add onto this thread instead of starting a new one but I’m looking for some input on limit switches for my 940 conversion. The limit switch is the same as the home switch correct I don’t have two separate sets of switches? Also what brands or kinds do you guys recommend??

I use SN04-N DC NPN NC 4MM DC 6-36V for home and soft limits on the other end

Soft limit is the travel of each axis you can dial in in the wizards axis configuration.

You use the home NPN switch on one end short before the mechanical stop and the distance to the opposite stop is the travel.

Very useful for example if you have 5" travel on Y, but mounted a vise that hits the collum at 4" you dial in 4" and go back to 5" when the vise is removed.

Oh OK awesome thank you for the explanation so basically I just need one of each of the switches you described above on each end of the axis? Six physical total switches, and then one turns into a home switch and one turns into a soft limit switch??

No only one switch per axis for home, soft limit is a calculation from Acorn, travel from home position.

Home 0
Travel 5"

If you want to go to -0,1" or 5.1" both will give an error message and stops at 0" or 5"

Just tagging along with all my other posts for those conversion just a quick question I swear I came across it somewhere where Marty was talking about this but for the clear path servos I bought there’s two cables a blue one and a black one I assume one’s power and one’s communication anyhow I bought the 55 footers and was going to turn them into three cables , cutting the ends off and splicing them into three individual cables with ends. Does anybody know where I can get the ends from I found some money Amazon but they look kind of cheap.

All the part numbers for the Clearpath connectors are in the manuals, did you look there? You can order from Mouser or Digikey.
