Recommendations for PC to run p.m. 940 conversion

Limit switch mounting solution… I just started designing and making these limit switch mounts, was thinking about making a little kit and putting it up for sale somewhere. Containing all the mounts to bolt up 2 switches on all 3 axis!!

I have since redesigned the bracket completely and gone with a different idea and putting both switches on one bracket on each access that moves along with it so the cables will have to move with it but I figured that’s the best solution

A little project update the machine is up and running and I have the spindle turning controlled by CNC 12 in forward motion still trying to figure out reverse for some reason. Big thanks to Ann Arbor Nate for helping me finish up the wiring and the settings on the VFD to get the spindle up and running

Little update y’all spindle is moving in forward and reverse under Akorn control I still have some configurations to do the speed of my machine home is way too fast that needs to be adjusted I also need to set up my limit switches in my encoder and we should be good to go

Also just ordered my brake resistor so I can set up dynamic braking

I guess where I’m lost is really what is the need for the touchscreen if you have the wireless Pandant?, is the idea just so you don’t have a keyboard and mouse add the machine computer? I mean ideally you’d have your machine screen along with a keyboard and mouse close by the machine so you can click on settings and open up different parameters and adjust them? What is the real use of the touchscreen?

With the Wireless MPG, you find less use for the Touchscreen. That's what I am saying.
You need a keyboard. I use the small Logitech K400+ with touch pad you can by from Amazon:

Download Logitech Options and change the top row media keys back to F-keys and you are good to go

Hey Marty - I got this Logitech keyboard and like it. However, something I haven't figured out is that, page up and page down control Z movement, but on the Logitech PU & PD are added to the up and down arrows so don't work. I've tried 2 key combos with no luck. Hope you can enlighten me. Thanks...David

I use the Logitech as well and also have 3 more running my big screens and they work great and are durable as hell, just switch them off and blow'em out once in a while or the chips will cause the keys to stick. I have tried every solution that I could find for the pg up and dn keys the issues is when you change the f keys back you still have to hold the function key down on the left of the spacebar to use pg up & pg dn which in my case is z+ z-... this makes it a 2 handed operation. I added an old game controller that I had as an mpg and now my keyboard stays on the control station. Adding the game controller was easy there are several videos on youtube on how to do it. Hey David,

I much prefer the K400r keyboard if you can get them. They have larger directional arrow keys. Keyboard jogging active with Alt-j, and hold the FN key while using the pg up/pg dn arrow keys should make them work.
