CNC Knee mill with acu-rite to acorn?

Post by Sloppsta »

Hey guys, new here. I just picked up a 2013 champ knee mill with acu-rite 3000i software. The controls are acting a little screwy, so considering switching to a centroid controller. How do I know if my motors and encoders and whatnot are compatible with acorn?

Ive had a crash where it listed the nc, multiple buffer battery errors, an error where it states the plc has no error, ghost e stops, and more. Trying to get into machining and not off to a good start!

We are happy to make suggestions.
You might take the time to follow and provide the information in this post:

At the very least, take pictures of the motors and their labels as well as pictures of the control cabinet and its servo drives and spindle drive(VFD?)
Then we can provide some suggestions.
I can only guess, without pictures. But your machine may have DC Brush Servos....
