Videos on CNC conversion of PM-30MV

Post by Accu-Slice »

I just recently posted 3 videos on the CNC conversion of my Precision Mathews PM-30MV Mill. For this conversion I used the Centroid Acorn control board and software, the DMM model DYN4 Servos and the Arizona CNC ball screw conversion kit. The three YouTube videos are as follows:

PM-30MV Mill CNC Conversion - Part 1 - Electronics Design and Assembly

PM-30MV Mill CNC Conversion - Part 2 - Installation of Ball screws & Servo Motors

PM-30MV Mill First Project – Part 3

The conversion went quite well thanks to Stephen at DMM, Dave at Arizona CNC, and several responses to my questions on this forum. Also a special thanks to Marty and Franko for their web sites and the information they provided.

My next project will be the conversion of the spindle motor to integrate with the Acorn software. I am not sure how I will proceed on this project.

hi. great videos! wow. nice job.
fyi.. 5.08 = a 5mm pitch ball screw (with direct drive axis motors yields 5.08 turns per inch.)
