Back Again,
Something from left field but this would save me connecting the dividing head up to the headstock. On my lathe I have a large spindle brake that I have converted to air solenoid activated (actually its air release as fail safe, spring active) and I broach a lot of internal splines on my lathe. I currently remove the back panel and connect the dividing head to the back of the headstock to allow indexing. Most of the splines have a fair tolerance so it would be awesome if you could have another readout (user selectable On/Off) near spindle giving degrees of rotation. This way you could manually rotate spindle to index, lock brake and perform operation. I understand it is less accurate but it would be close enough for the majority of operations.

If you have a spindle encoder, set up a manual axis with that encoder # (probably 6) and it will display in degrees when configured correctly.

Kool, thanks for the heads up. Now I'm off to learn on how to set this up as I have no idea. I do enjoy a learning curve though so it should be fun. To point me in the right direction, would I set this up in the wizard or directly in CNC12?

Ok, I have tried everything I can think of, I cannot seem to make headway on creating an axis and linking it to the spindle encoder. I can't seem to display an axis unless its a powered axis and then I have no idea how to utilise the spindle encoder input.
