Intercon feature requests.

One reason I like Acorn so much is the Intercon dialog.

So my question is will it be further developed, so it would make sense to write a wishlist for updates to make Intercon even more user-friendly?

Uwe

I'd like to see tapping combined with the drill styles. Like Drill/peck/deep hole/tap. Normally, I enter a bunch of drill holes using simple drilling to do the center drills. Then I copy and paste those Intercon blocks, since they already have the X and Y hole locations, change the type to deep hole and modify the depth and peck amount to do the actual hole drilling.

It would be great to just paste again and switch to tapping to thread the holes, but instead I have to enter completely new blocks and possibly mistype a hole coordinate.

You can use the "Drill Repeat" (or rather, "Tap Repeat") operation to apply a different cycle to all of the XY locations of a previous set of drilling or tapping cycles.

That is better than copy and paste, because if you need to change or correct a hole location, you only have to do it in one place.

Tool Lib

I would like to have rows for feed and plunge rate

Image

File management

Option to save and load Interconfiles together with tool lib files as Jobs, so after using an old Intercon program the tools are loaded also in one go.
Changes in the Lib and Offset could be highlighted
Use Windows Explorer for file navigation

Image

Setup

Exact calculation of Vf, if you dial in Vfc, since Intercons knows the radius and tooldiameter

Image

DepthRepeat

Optional use of a fixed Z value for Clearence Height

Image

Frame

Optional change from radius to chamfer

Image

Thread

Increase per pass instead of working around with two or more fake tools

Image

Face

add Depth increase for mutliple passes

Image

Comment

increase field length to min 1024

Hope this was not to much.
Screenshots are from Demoversion.

If you are looking for beta testing, i would be pleased to do this.

Regards

Uwe

How about a wizard for tool offset setup, and even part offset. I could be a much more friendly workflow for the new user. Currently, there is nothing intuitive about it. I have really struggled to get the hang of it as a new user to lathe offsets. No previous lathe experience but lots of mill experience. So Mill tooling setup is not an issue but lathe offsets set up could really use improvement, so it takes you through the setup of all your tools step by step. Trying to remember HOW do set everything up, in the beginning, is confusing, I'm still figuring it out but think Im getting it now.

"Option to NOT RESET tool offsets at the end of the program"
I second this. No idea why it you guys thought it was a good idea to get rid of the offset on a tool at the end of a program? Was this to help increase crashes or something :)
