Ball screw ratio

Post by jcoldon »

i have a 1605 ball screw that 5 mm pitch . So on my z axis it almost 5 turns per inch . But i believe 5 mm pitch moves like .984 inch 5 turns

any one know what turn ratio sets at with a 5 mm pitch ball screw this on z axis if it moves .984 inch 5 turns

Or just divide the metric pitch by 25.4 and then take the reciprocal (the unused 1/x key on your calculator).

        1          = 5.08
5mm / 25.4
Cheers,
