VDF issues, 220v spindle issues

Post by Flash »

Here is a small video of what I'm dealing with.
https://linksharing.samsungcloud.com/hU9bZXtt9yqr

I have my VDF setting set to the attachment page. I found in this forum. I've also attached the wiring diagram I'm using as well

Issue 1: I keep getting a fault on the spindle that won't allow me to do anything.

2. Rmps are way too low for the tool I've set

3. Z- limit switch I don't think I have set correctly.

Any help would be appreciated!

Sam

In the screen shots that show your VFD parameters, they are not set. In the parameters that are listed as "varies", they need to be set. Without knowing what rpm your spindle is rated at, what the motor current is, how many poles your motor has etc.. there no way to determine what those should be set to.

You'll need to post a link to the manual for your VFD if you want any help. Those base setting only show you part of the big picture. We can't know anything about your VFD without it. The 300 you saw in the display was more than likely not the RPM but the frequency it was running at. You also need to post a pic of the specs for your spindle as those are just as important.

Maybe the AoL in the display means "you've got mail". We can't know this either without a manual.

First of all, you need to provide details of your build. Follow this post please: https://centroidcncforum.com/viewtopic.php?f=60&t=1043
ALWAYS post a FRESH report as I asked you to do on the Facebook forum: https://www.facebook.com/groups/897054597120437
F7 Utility, F7 Create Report
It will let us see how you have CNC12 configured.

Post a picture of the label on the side of the VFD
Post a link to the manual of the VFD
Post a picture of the manufacturer's label screened on the side of the motor OR post a link to the manual of the spindle motor

Assuming your VFD is a genuine Huan Yang VFD, EOCA is an overcurrent error according to the genuine Huan Yang VFD manual. If you wired your VFD to the spindle, then check your cable/wiring. Disconnect the Spindle from the VFD and see if the error goes away. If it does, you likely have a short and the VFD is protecting itself.

I would do a factory reset of the VFD. THEN set the parameters correctly for the VFD.
TEST the spindle motor FROM the front panel of the VFD.
Once you have done this to ensure your spindle motor works well with the VFD then you can move on to configuring the parameters in the VFD for 0-10V analog control from Acorn and to setup the output relays.

Until you have the VFD directly controlling the Spindle motor, leave the VFD disconnected from Acorn.

This is not your VFD but it demonstrates how you can configure and test a VFD/Spindle motor to ensure it is correctly configured before you connect to Acorn, using a simple battery on the VFD analog input
