Didn't mean to steal your thunder Marty. :D I just wanted to point out that the 5V drive DOES still require a resistor if using 24 volts, it just doesn't need to be installed by the builder, it's inside the drive already.

They do still require the resistor it's just built into V4 and you select 5 or 24 with a DIP switch. The DIP switch is putting the internal resistor inline with your 24 volt input if you choose 24 volts. If you wire it up with 5V then you are in essence taking the resistor out of the equation when you flip the DIP switch to 5V. These are still 5v drives. :D
I was not implying the internal circuit did not need it, I was implying the user did not have to provide and wire it in.
