Hi,
I have calibration issue with my Huan Yang VFD and 2.2 kW water-cooled spindle. I connected only FOR signal as I am using only forward direction and I did not connect did not connect FVD Reset and Spindle OK wires. But it is working OK, meaning I can start and stop spindle and it is adjusting the speed within VFD limits. I have setup MAX frequency at 400 Hz and minimum Frequency at 133.33 Hz that results in 24k to 8333 rpm for spindle. I can obtain these speeds from Acorn board by commanding S24000 and S1. I measured actual speed of the spindle using optical tach (it is very close numbers to VFD display readings) and recorded PWM voltage for every speed between 0 and 24k rpm (see attached file). It looks like that I am commanding 0-24k rpm and voltage follows the straight line. The actual rpm follows the straight line also, but with minimum at 8333, so all numbers starting from 24k are skewed up. Is there anything I can do to accommodate the minimum speed of the spindle? BTW, when I put Minimum Spindle speed in the wizard it does not change anything, but do not allow S command below this value. All readings are the same. Please advise. Thank you.

Program the VFD for 0Hz - 400Hz, then put your desired minimum RPM in the Wizard.
Standard Centroid PLC programs assume the VFD scales from zero, even if you choose not to allow the slowest speeds.

Thank you. I will give it a try. I hope I will not burn the spindle by accidently go lower than 8000 rpm. Does anybody know/tested lowest rpm on Huan Yang 2.2 kW water cooled spindle?

We need to see the big picture including details about the build
