I have clearly stated our return/repair policy.

The Acorn is a DIY product.
We publicly provide the firmware installation tools and instructions (posted to you in several of your other posts) that allow you do "Do It Yourself"
so if you think the BBG is the issue you can purchase one and install it yourself.

Yes. If you choose to have Centroid diagnose and repair your Acorn, the charge is $199 whether it's for a single 5-cent capacitor, or the whole board went up in flames - if it was due to customer actions. As Keith has stated repeatedly, if it was a manufacturing defect, Centroid will refund your $199.

If you are sure it's the Beaglebone, then you would come out ahead purchasing your own and replacing it if the damage was due to something you did. If it was a manufacturing defect, you'd be out the $60 bucks.
Cheers,

Tom

Thanks for your response but I'd like to hear it directly from centroid and not a customer of centroid. No offense intended

You obviously aren't happy as you have attacked, made false accusations and flat out disregard guidance and advice with about everyone here on the forum and at centroid that has tried to help you. Heck even Marty gave up on you and he has the patience of a saint.
I think the acorn cnc system, retrofitting a machine and the digitizing process is beyond your scope.
Maybe you'll have better luck your do it yourself expectations with one of our competitors.
Please accept my offer of a full refund.

If you were serious about hearing it direct from Centroid you would be emailing support, not trying to flame the company on the internet. You need to understand that DIY CNC is sometimes above the comprehension level of some users. It will be very difficult for those that do not take the time to learn the required skills. It will be near impossible for those that insist on blaming others for their own failures or mistakes.

It is Centroid Policy, policies are in place for a reason.
Centroid is a fair company.
You have a choice to make, if you damaged the board, it will be shown when inspected. If on the off chance there was a manufacturing defect, Centroid will make it right. You have to follow the company policy as we all do.

WE all make mistakes, I for one am glad that Centroid has the $199 Warranty policy, because I have damaged an Acorn or two from my own doing, not Centroid's. Its better than paying full cost for something that I did.

If you can't be down, then you should have a backup components on hand. If you have jobs to do, revert to your old control.

We all have choices to make. Yours now is whether or not to abide by the Centroid policy or not, and if you need to get back up and running, revert to your old control. If you are not happy with Centroid, they offered to refund your money (that is an exception, not the rule in the industry), and you can go with another control.

If you stick with Centroid, and want help we'll try, but we need to see the bid picture to help guide you along and you have to be willing to listen and try the suggestions made. Its why we are here to help each other.

I would remove BBG and plug it into the USB Cable for power as you did when you reflashed it. If it has a heartbeat, it is possible you damaged something on the Acorn motherboard. BBG will shut itself down under certain circumstances.
Otherwise:
I would reflash BBG and make sure it has a heartbeat before putting it back on to Acorn.
If you plug it on Acorn, power up Acorn with the power supply included with Acorn, wired properly to Acorn (Check wiring and check the +24V Power Supply) and it shuts off again, pull BBG off again and power it with the USB cable.

Just trying to help you figure out whether or not it is BBG or something on Acorn causing the problem
