9034 Fault Probe error

Post by BillB »

Hey All, I'm back to my Sherline chucker lathe & mill build after the last 2 months of buying, building & setting up, my new Tormach 1100M mill. Sure is nice knowing a controller and machine, setting it up and getting your 1st few parts off the mill all in a few weeks time. : ) Wish I could say that for my Acorn build I never got to the point of running my 1st part but I now I back at it and need to learn CNC 12 and get it all working.

I'm getting an error (9034 Fault "Remove Probe From Spindle") after trying to run my 1st Intercon program. Not sure how to resolve it , I dont even see this fault in the CNC12 lathe manual?. Im not using a probe on the lathe BUT I do have a tool setter Z probe wired up for my mill and currently connected to the Acorn. FYI Im using my Acorn for both Sherline mill and lathe, at least for now until I build another system for the mill.

The program will not run.

Attached is a report and screenshot

Unplug the probe, invert the probe detect input or remove the probe in the Wizard

Only giving bits and pieces.....remember YOU are familiar with your build we are not
In looking at your inputs from the Acorn.SRC file:

Could you please post a screenshot of your diagnostic screen when you have this error: (alt i)
Is your ToolTouchOffDetect circuit active? Or ToolTouchOffTriggered?

Assume you have something rigged up for setting tools in your lathe? (Can't see what you see)

Here you go, including ss of the probe and tt pages as well. As said I'm not running a probe or tt on the lathe so I just assume to disable it in the wizard as I still need to set it up for the mill.

FYI worth mentioning one of the last things I was working on before I stopped working on my build was the TT for the mill but never got past hooking it up and initial testing it for continuity, but not in function for tool probing I did not get that far with it. I don't think I ever made any changes in the wizard for tt or probe.

Clarify please.
Are you trying to run a lathe and a mill?
What kind of machine are we working with here?
Yes, take them out of the input assignments if they are not being used.

I'm a little confused as to what you are doing (or trying to to)?

I figured you might remember sorry, I have a Sherline 5400 mill and a Sherine Chucker Lathe set up on a single Acorn and im switching back and forth between the 2 for now. Eventually, I'm going to build a 2nd system for the mill. For now Im only trying to get everything set up for the lathe and learn CNC12 Lathe & function of the lathe. SO I don't need the tool touch or probing for the lathe. I do not have a probe installed only a tool touch device.

When I do switch back to the mill i will need the tool touch device/ function so I don't want to remove the physical hardware from the Acron just disable it for the lathe configuration.

What do I need to turn off or set up to turn off the probe function in the wizard?

Hopefully, that clarifies things.

Remove it from the inputs in the Wizard for lathe
