Shreddedcurbs,

Do you know how to access the diagnostic screen so you can see the inputs and outputs triggering?
You realize you need to tell CNC12 that the probe is connected?
All this is covered in the probe document previously referred to...
Let's get your machine properly running first.....

Manual is here:

https://topcom.cz/products/dig3d/dig3dlpm/

could be wired like any NPN NC sensor, and if you use a four-pole plug you can use probe detect when plugging in also with GND connected on the probe side to fourth pole and this to In6 Probe detect.

Thanks Uwe,
While we all want to help users, users need to be encouraged to provide the information about their builds, it is all covered in this post:
https://centroidcncforum.com/viewtopic.php?f=60&t=1043

Our time is just as valuable as the user requesting the assistance. Please encourage users to provide the information in the post. It helps us help them more efficiently and provide much better suggestions. Remind them to provide a fresh report.

This user is clearly frustrated and he is hopping around. His machine is not completely configured yet. He should step back, slow down, and go through the Acorn installation guide from the beginning and checking off each item as it is successfully completed and tested. Probes should be the last thing to configure once the machine is configured correctly.

Sloppy setup/configuration is going to add to his frustrations. Take the time to do it correctly and or find someone to help do it correctly and he'll be much happier with the outcome.

Marty

Having worked over there for four years, I'll also point out the wire colors will change from week to week depending on what's cheapest in the market that week.

shreddedcurbs, I believe you said in another post you got the probe working? If so, what did you end up doing so we can bring closure to this topic.
Thanks

I threw the probe from the Czech republic in the trash.

I got another probe and connect its output to the IN7 probe triggered port. Then I jumped a wire from the nearby 24V port to a 24v source. Then I ran the ground from the probe to a ground on the PSU. Worked just fine.

Dont purchase any touch probes from the Czech republic.

Shreddedcurbs

I have the 5v version of the DIG3d with the magnetic connector, I am still assembling my machine so I have not gotten to check out the probe. After reading about your experience, I ran out and put the DIG3d on the test bench.

Interesting, there was no NC (Normally Closed) function happening with the probe. Switched the magnetic connector over to the "Touch off" tool, and that tool worked fine.

Put the magnetic connector back on the DIG3d and now it is working fine.

Bottomline I think one of the pogo pins must have been stuck.

I have the same probe with magnetic connector, works perfect in combination with a swiss made Z-Finder ( also 24V NPN NC ). Cost me 5min to wire up with Probe detect when plugged in. ;)

The magnetic connector is very convenient and it is one of the probes with smallest height, this is perfect for mills with little Z height to dial bigger parts in. For sure more for hobby use and not as rigid as Centroid or Renishaw, but small and also precise.
