You need to contact Denford for the truth table for this particular turret.
You also need to ask if the gray logic outputs are HIGH or LOW when active

I thought someone else had done a build with this particular turret? He would be a wealth of information.

Thanks for the help, i will get in contact with them tomorrow and see if they have this information.

If anyone has done this conversion before it would be great to speak to them.

KFM on here is doing one but he hasn't been on in a while.

The Diode module is missing due to a previous attempt to convert the machine before i owned it.

You posted a page 3 of a schematic which I did not see earlier. It shows a "Rotary Switch" with 8 positions.
Kind of need to know what this is exactly. Have you removed the cover of the turret to show these electronics?

I will remove the cover tonight and take a photo, see what's going on in there.

This is what i have coming out the turret signal side, there is an additional 2 cables, one is the turrets motor and one i think is the turret thermal:

This page on the Denford forum is interesting, i don't quite understand it all yet though.

They seem to run a Grayhill 8 position switch (44A45-01-1-08N)

That is enlightening.
If you want to do this correctly, you need to use an Ether1616 expansion I/O board.

You need to take note of the wire colors on that switch and the position number and build your truth table out of that.
Compare to see if your colors match up. You have to take the time to carefully document all the wiring in your tool changer and what their functions are.

It appears you simply have a mechanical switch, so contacts are going to close given the tool position.
You are going to have to validate which switches are open and which are closed given the turret tool position.

Get that lathe done other than the turret. Then tackle the turret.

Take your cover off and take some detailed pictures of your turret wiring for us.
Carefully count the number of wires on the switch. Is there 8 or 9. Schematics say 9 with the GREY being the COMmon
You have to dig into your turret.

Oh, try not to take remove the switch. It is likely calibrated to the tool changer already (unless someone previous to you removed it before. Look for any witness or alignment marks)

In looking at that picture of the switch, and comparing colors, they all jibe. I also see the grey wire in that picture.
I don't think you will need the diode board. The Grey (COMmon) wire would go to Acorn power supply COM.

You just need to take your cover off and validate that the picture below matches your turret wiring
