Re: STEPPERONLINE CL57T stepper drivers, fault code 7, no movement.
My 4 CL57T working fine with ENABLE connected to Acorn. Had only to switch the ALM to NC by the tunning software to use them in series connected to one input on the Acorn.drdennis wrote: ↑Tue Dec 07, 2021 1:16 am Don't know if this is your problem, but...
Make sure the ENA input on the CL57T is disconnected. Many stepper controllers including this one keep calling the input ENABLE even though it actually disables the motion in its active state. If you connect the [default configuration] Acorn ENABLE output to this input it will result in the stepper drive raising an error. The reason is rather simple: Acorn ENABLE actually enables, but the ENABLE input disables the controller
Cheers

Re: STEPPERONLINE CL57T stepper drivers, fault code 7, no movement. <incorrectly wired from stepperonline>
Indeed, it will work if you set the polarity correctly. I was just observing that:
1. Pedantically speaking, the doc is semantically misleading calling the input ENABLE, given the fact that when activated it will disable the drive.
2. The Acorn default configuration will result in an error reported by the drive (unless the polarity is reversed).
Some drives call the input ENABLE, other drives call the very same input RESET, most of them describing the functionality in obfuscated way. Fortunately, most docs include a note stating that when this input is unconnected the drive is enabled -- which ultimately is what gives the real behavior away. This is just one of my pet peeves.

Just bench testing the Z axis now, and I can get the motor to lock up, and when I go to jog, it shutters a little then the driver gives me fault code 7 red blinks.

I have messed around with settings, increasing the accel/decel settings, the motor speed, and other shots in the dark to no avail.
I have had success with the CL57Y drivers in the past, as well as other setups so I am hoping someone can give me some insight as to maybe something obvious im overlooking.

Marty, it says solved right in the title, yes. It was cables wired incorrectly from stepperonline.martyscncgarage wrote: ↑Tue Dec 21, 2021 12:06 pmJake, you quoted a quote.CivilCNC wrote: ↑Tue Dec 21, 2021 11:14 amCivilCNC wrote: ↑Mon Dec 06, 2021 2:21 pm Hello all been really scratching my head here trying to get my lathe to move and having little success.
