cant figure out how to hookup, yes I read all docs

Hello. I will keep this short as possible.

I have a 4x8 CNC Router with the following:

DMA860H steppers (X, Y, Z, Z, A)
Manual Here- http://www.leadshine.com/UploadFile/Down/MA860Hm.pdf
XHC- MKX-IV Mach3 Motion Card
https://www.nvcnc.net/MK4/MACH3%20Contr ... MKX-IV.pdf

I purchased the Acorn controller so that I can finally use my probe. However, it seems I cannot even use this kit yet without a DB25 breakout board.. is this correct? Since I use Leadshine, can i use the "headers" on the acorn board, or will I need the DB25 breakout board? If I need the DB25 Breakout board, can someone post an amazon link to the correct one for what steppers I have?

Leadshine are 5v, so yes you use the DB25.

Any DB25 breakout board will work.

Yes, those drives will connect to the DB25 with a break out board. Here's link to one on Amazon.....

I did my very first Acorn retrofit on a Chinese CNC router with that same controller and was so glad to get rid of it. Good luck with your project.

You downloaded and read the installation manual found on this page?

I use these DB25 male breakout boards. $10 and you get them quickly:

Nearly all 5VDC Logic drives get connected to the DB25

Can you help me then? I just dont understand what wires go where. The MACH3 motion card has XD- XD+ and 5V... what part of the acorn db25 does that go to? Are any of those the output 1, step 1, direction 1? Also did you need another male plug for the spindle encoder on the centroid acorn controller? Wish this was a more complete kit

Hello. please see the Acorn to specific drive connection schematics. they are found here.
https://www.centroidcnc.com/centroid_di ... browse.php#

click search, type in MA860H and schematic #S14976 appears. use that schematic.

Here are some photos of the current controller. Also a photo of the generic leadshine stepper it looks like they jumped the PUL+ to the DIR+ on the stepper
