Would be nice to have some updates on acorn, or small extended boards to buy where we can upgrade our systems to get closer to industrial style...

I'd argue that the MPG is exactly the answer. But then you observe:
But at home it would mean spend another 400 €
Well if your time and tools are free, you can build yourself almost anything for much less, including an MPG-like speed controller.

Finally you seem to suggest that an app screen change would suffice?
Thats why small UI change...
Which makes me really puzzled.
A small UI change in the WIndows app has nothing to with the Acorn board and of course does not involve potentiometers.
I am only guessing how the CNC12 app is structured but chances are all of the control is on the Windows side as that is where the VCP lives, and that's where the MPG is connected. So modifying or even just involving the Acorn board is likely not a good solution.
There may be a solution to your problem, but you may need to communicate more clearly what your constraints are.
Cheers

BTW, we have replaced [real physical] potentiometers in digital applications with rotary encoders many years ago.

If you would like to build something this is the perfect device I would use:
https://ams.com/o/imageoptim/resize/doc ... adf23f/950
Hook it up to a micro with a USB device support and program it as a HID replicating the Acorn keyboard keystrokes. The whole thing probably less than $25 + your time.

Dont get me wrong, im not saying thet customer service is bad, or that Centroid dont listen customers. No no no not saying that :)
And i understand policy of MPG wheel. Im just trying to give centroid another tip how to improve... and trying to tell you my stand point.

If i would be in position of buying cnc controller again i would buy Oak or Allin , but for start up i did buy acorn, unfortunately because soon ive grow it up.
If you would accommodate this feature , that would be great ! Same as for example camera manufactures realise updates ( firmware updates ) to improve cameras...

many thanks for your time, Im planing build another machine with Oak and MPG will be there. but i cant justify MPG on this machine.

Im too dum in programming to create potentiometer for acorn :D thats why im suggesting new product for them , many ppl dont need MPG, but if they would sell preprogrammed potentiomete, and you just hook it up to USB port and it works for 50 or 100 bucks im on it !!
And i dont think it would drop sales of Oak or Allin,

Another sugestion was not to use potentiometer , just bigger steps on feed rate not 1% :)

Yes i agree , maybe involving acorn is not good idea, because it is not build to be Oak or Allin. someting can get wrong, and i understand MPG is good way to go. but some ppl in theyer machine dont need MPG, thats why im suggesting this 10 o 20% steps... I belive it is possible.

this may interest you. USB devices that emulate key strokes can control the feedrate overide.

Yes i do use time to time this keyboard shortcuts, but still changing feedrate is still slow , what aobout that shuttle express ? did you use it ? would turning nob change feedrate ?

do someone have experience with it during running program ? I mean this could be solution what im looking for .... !!!

Shuttle Express works. CNCKeith provided you links. Did you get a chance to look at them?
