Lathe ATC Controlled by Acorn

Post by pwsystems »

Hi I am retrofitting an old Lathe with a ACORN and Ether1616
I has a hydraulic 8 tool changer
I need help with the setup of the tool changer
the tool position sensor is same as many Fanuc controlled machines I have done a map of the outputs (included )
It needs 4 Relays controlled
1 Turret open
2 Fast CW
3 Fast CCW
4 Slow
And 2 switches
1 Turret open
2 Turret closed
The the process is
1Turret open
2 Turret Fast in the shortest direction CW/CCW to the tool number
3 When the tool number is detected on outputs 1-7
4 Turret slows till output 0 is triggered
5 Turret closes
I need help please with Input and output assignments on the acorn/ether1616 boards ( i have not assigned any out/ins as yet )
Probably a new PLC program
Changes to setting in the program

Regards

You will have to pay someone to write the tool changer MACRO
There likely is no fast or slow, turret probably operates in one speed.

Please take the time to follow this post: viewtopic.php?f=60&t=1043

Please post make and model of the lathes make and mod l of the turret, any turret schematics, what kind of motor the turret has etc.

A video of the turret operating on another machine may be helpful.
You can pay to have a PLC modified or written, but VERY specific operational details of the turret must be known.
