It's PVC but I'll add some risers and be more careful.

I don't know what HEADER is.

I'll attach reports from now on, sorry about that. I just tried again and attached the report.

what settings would be helpful to see?

There was a message that said that an emergency stop was detected. The schematic shows +24v next to input 8 and an emergency stop common wired into input 8. Are those necessary for everything to work?

When everything is powered up there the motor has some resistance but is not locked.

Eric

What did you do to get it working Eric?

In the photo above there is nothing wired into input 8 which is configured as the emergency shutoff ground. I needed to connect that tot he common ground and wire a 24v hot into the 24v hot next to input 8.

The next step is to get the spindle running. I've attached a photo of the VFD wiring diagram from its manual.

It looks like this VFD can take either digital or analog input, is that right? Do understand correctly that the acorn can control the spindle through the two analog outputs or digitally through the DB25 connector? If that's right, which way do you recommend?

For the single phase input there are only L and N terminals, but I have two loads, a neutral and a ground. Any ideas there?

If you are running "split phase" 240V here in the US, then one of the hots is connected to L and the other hot is connected to N. Hopefully you also have a place to connect ground to the VFD. Neutral is not used when using 240V, only when using 120V.
Cheers,

Tom

What make and model is the VFD you are planning on using? Link to the manual?
As Tom mentions, you are running 240 single phase power?

I’ve got 220v single phase power in my shop.

Here is the manual:
