Acorn Analog Out to an Arduino?

I’d like to connect the Acorn spindle analog output to the analog input of an Arduino. Has anyone ever done this? Can you connect the Acorn AN GND to the Arduino Ground. I’m using the Arduino to generate a PWM speed refrence signal to an MC2100 motor controller from treadmill. This will be the spindle drive on a small mill I’m building. The MC2100 is optically isolated from the Arduino.

I realize that I’ll need a voltage divider to drop the maximum 10vdc from the Acorn Analog Out to a maximum of 5vdc for the Arduino analog input.

Acorn should be able to do PWM output without having to add an Arduino. Search for PWM.
