Low buck HF Spindle for a benchtop mill

Post by suntravel »

Had the Makita RF 0700 anyway, so it was for me free to fit it an my mill for some highspeed milling and engraving with small bits..

Clamp is made of AW7075, bigger part with tape/superglue fixture and the precision is spot on, holds even without the clamp on the spindle :)

The sighthound is made in Inkscape/DXF import, all other programming only using Centroid Intercon. For me it is a very fast way to make simple 2.5D parts, faster than using fusion 360 and faster than doing stuff only using the MPG like the mill was manual.

Very happy the way Acorn works with the software.

Milling with the original spindle ist only at 200mm/min-1 because no more then 2250 rpm right now, with the Makita and 30000 rpm 1500mm/min, 900mm/min for engraving.
