Re: Exceeding travel
If I'm parting a 1/2 rod from the front, I'd probably rapid to X0.55, feed to X0.0, and then rapid to 0.55" again. To do the same thing from the backside, rapid to -0.55, feed to 0, then rapid to -0.55 again.
Cheers,
Tom

Re: Exceeding travel
Would you be willing to write a sample program in Intercon and provide it to me? I've programmed it with negative values for my cutoff tool but the dam approach moves are not right, it's driving me nuts. I am using the approach and retract function but I still can't just get the rapids to come in from top come straight down make the cut then rapid straight out in X. It keeps crossing over the part which would result in crashing.
Im also trying to figure out how to program these negative moves in Fusion but not sure what to change. what moves are the approach and retract I what I'm not sure about. been playing with this as well and not getting it worked out.

Re: Exceeding travel
As previously pointed out, Centroid will not automatically figure out clearance moves when swapping between front and rear mount tools. YOU will have to manually enter linear moves in Intercon to pre-position the tool before calling the Intercon cycle.

Re: Exceeding travel
OK so the lightbulb just went off in my head as I was reading this post. Would that mean I need to DRAW the linner moves I WANT via the drawing tools in Intercon? I did not even consider that was the solution? IF that is what you are talking about?

Re: Exceeding travel
I have no clue what Intercon drawing tools are. I was referring to F3 Insert/F1 Line To enter either feedrate or rapid moves to position your tool before the backside tool step. As Marc pointed out earlier, you can also use the pre/post position entry on either the cycle before (post position) or the backside tool cycle (pre position).
I prefer using linear moves instead of pre-post positioning because I find it easier to follow.

Re: Exceeding travel
Ok what your saying sounds like the same thing as drawing in Intercon, but you're just inserting a single line. I will give it a try. I have not been able to get the post position to work for me yet.tblough wrote: ↑Mon Jan 31, 2022 7:40 pm I have no clue what Intercon drawing tools are.
