I am new to this forum, but got many useful information here, so i want to give something back. Maybe it is useful for some users...
Sorry for my bad english, I am from germay
Currently I am on the way to make a benchtopmill to a CNC machine for knifemaking.
Using CL57T drivers, connected them like the CL57Y schematics, wich works well but not for the ALM, since this ist despite the manual NO and not NC
Tryed to get them connected with the Tunnigsoftware on a WIN10 PC with an USB-Serial cable, after 3 of them not working, dusted of an old laptop with XP an a serial plug wich works perfect. But i have to change the Fault Output to Active high to make them work NC
Kind of like in my main business, old Traub CNC will not work with USB-Serial, but with old Laptops an build in DB9.
Now it works to connect them in series and if one of them cant follow the steps it puts out an Drive Error.
Tunningsoftware can be downloaded from Stepperonline, or from Leadshine who makes the drivers.
Kind regards
Uwe

Re: Stepperonline CL57T with Acorn
I also have a question, do this setting mean an error is generated after losing 4000 steps?
Would be kind of useless with a 4mm ball screw and 2:1 reduction to get an error after losing 2mm way...
Kind regards
Uwe

Re: Stepperonline CL57T with Acorn
Was as I supposed, the maximum following error they were configured with, 4000, was an Alarm after loosing 4000 pulses, that means If you are running them with 4000 one revolution loss bevor the give an driver error....
Changed it to 40, so after loosing >0,02mm (0,0079 ") on my setup, the job stops with driver error instead of making crap
Regards
Uwe
