How do you set G28, G29, G30?

Post by rk9268vc »

Good afternoon,

I am trying to figure out how to set G30 and G28 for setting tool offsets
I am using the probe app from swissi and it uses G30 for the tool touch off fixed location, and G28 as the retract
G30.PNG
How do you change G30 and G28? Right now it is just set as the origin.

My problem is also that the probe routine times out after 10 inches of Z height, and my travels are 15.5in so the probe times out before it finds the tool setter. Is there anyway to change this?

Thanks!

G28 and G30 are set from the WCS F1 Setup/F1 Part/F9 WCS Table and covered in section 4.2 in the Operator's manual.

Probe distance travel limit is set by parameter 16 - maximum probing distance, but the better solution is to jog your probe close before starting probing routines.
Cheers,

Tom

I have CDO. It's like OCD, but the letters are where they should be.

I didnt see it because it is under "Return" which I thought just meant go back a page. The Origin tab was all the G54-59 and I was confused I couldnt find 30

Thanks for the help

Also for my future reference, params table is under

Looks like Tom helped you already with the G28/G30 return address settings.

Regarding the "timeout" after 10", this value can be set in the "Probe" tab of the CNC12 Wizard. Look for the Parameter "Maximum Probing Distance" and increase the distance as needed. This value can also be changed directly in the CNC12 by changing Parameter 16.
