Gantry software pairing auto homing with one switch

I have been reading and watching videos and cant find this answer.

I am retrofitting a machine this weekend and the machine setup is as follows.

Gantry Y axis with two motors. There is only one home switch on the paired axis. The gantry is really rigid and do not need to square it,

I cannot find how to auto home with software paired axis with ne home switch. I looked at getting two contacts from the one switch but the docs say it needs the two switches offset. Hit one switch before the other.

Is there a way to do this?

Thanks,

Bob

If you are not using Autosquaring, you don't need 2 home switches.
You do need the pro license for software pairing.
Once you pair the master and slave, the control will turn both motors. You may have to reverse the direction of one of them.
Just home it like you would a milling machine. One switch per axis.

You might create one post, explain the machine you will be retrofitting (pictures, links to drive manuals etc would be very helpful) and ask all your questions.

You mentioned in another post it is an AXYZ router currently running under Linux correct?

Thanks for the response. This is good news.
I purchased the pro license.

I did the linuxcnc upgrade a year ago and they are not happy with the interface. Hence the acorn upgrade.
Its actually quite a simple machine.

Next time I will create a thread and put everything in it. I have another machine I have to upgrade from MAch3 and it has an ATC. Nice to see Centroid software has a real PLC program and cant wait to work with it.

Thanks for your help.
