Thank you Marty for take the time to help me, this is my first project, I'll made the changes, once have all done I'll let you know.

Re: loss of position and lost communications ACORN
Hi Marty,
This is an update, I changed the stepper drivers for a DM556T from stepperonline at 48V and set RMS current 3.1A (IAW the motor datasheet rated current 3 A) and installed a SE-600 Meanwell power supply 48V 12.5 A 600W. I'm doing some tests, so far what I noticed is that the sound produced by the motors is lower (pretty lower) than with the previous drivers.
I'll run a long program to check temperatures and communication.
Thank you for your help.
Leo

Re: loss of position and lost communications ACORN
did you fix the com errors? fresh report.
in the photo you are using different cable than centroid supplied. doesn't look shielded to me..it is also a bulkhead cable which will not work. that is the source of the communication errors. eliminate it , run the supplied ethernet cable directly from the PC to the Acorn and test. what are the results?
are you using the DB25 to drive the stepper drives? stepper drives run best connected to the DB25 5vdc.

Re: loss of position and lost communications ACORN
Unshielded CAT5 cable, stepper drives wired to the headers and not the DB25, unshielded drive cables and using a laptop, what could go wrong here?
All joking aside Leo, you have a few issues to correct in your build that are causing problems and will continue to until you address them.

Re: loss of position and lost communications ACORN
Hi Marty and Shawn,
The cable is shielded and is an extension from the exterior of the panel to the acorn (attached photo 4121), the drivers are connected to the 5V of the power supply provided by centroid. I made a 3.5 Hrs test and no problems, just noticed that the temperature of the motors is higher due to the 48V supply, 80C max.
In the log attached there is a problem in 8:40 am due to a power loss in the building.
I'll keep testing and waiting for the new PC to change the laptop.
Thank you again for all your support and sense of humor

Re: loss of position and lost communications ACORN
I have purchased and used SHIELDED bulkhead connectors and used a SHIELDED Short cable between it and Acorn very successfully. However, not all bulk head connectors are shielded and you should get rid of that excess cable between the connector and Acorn.
