That being said I am still learning I have one question as I start to speed things up I want to remove the extra retract between tools. I assume I should just remove the command from ATC_return_tool but one should be added after manual tool change in Get_Tool. Am I missing any additional Logic? Thanks

It looks like you don't have the latest version of the Rack ATC Module. I made some enhancements to the module and one of them is the option to keep the rack extended between the Tool Return and Tool Load.

Here's a screenshot of the new Configuration Page:

P47.PNG

When the "Keep Rack Extended" option is checked, the Get_tool and Return_Tool are extending the Rack but they do not retract it so you will need to add a Rack Retract Command at the end of the M6 tool change command file mfunc6.mac.

When you use the Tool Load/Unload Buttons in the ProbeApp Tool Library Manager, the first Tool Load or Unload will extend the rack and it will stay extended until you exit the ProbeApp Tool Library Manager with the Exit button.

One more thing I noticed in your video is that you can optimize the tool change by adjusting the parameter "Z Clearance Position above Tool Holder" on the Rack Module Configuration page to the point where the bottom of the spindle has just cleared the top of the tool holder. At the moment you have that point way above the tool holder which slows down the process. The spindle will retract with the configured "Z (un)load Feed Rate" until the spindle reaches the Z Clearance Point and will speed up the Z retract move from that point with a fast jog to the Z tool change position.

Send me an email and I'll send you a link to the latest version of the Rack ATC Module.

Dear Swissi,

just stumbled across ProbeApp! Really want to try is, probably helps a lot for someone who sucks at writing macros - been struggling for hours now to get it done properly.
But, I don't know where to start with the files on GitHub. Where do i find the ProbeApp-Setup.msi file?

Cheers,

Raph

Hi All,
How will the probe app work with the Mill Digitizing software. I have both but have not installed the Probe App.

Swissi's probe app does probing and probe calibration replacing the Centroid probing routines. It does not do digitization so you will still need Centroid's application for that.
