If I select the side next to the probe it will move away from the part until it eventually issues an error.
I guarantee you that you have your axis direction setup incorrectly. Remember that the Axis+ Direction is the direction the tool moves and NOT the table.

Check your axis direction setup and post if this solved your issue.

My direction of travel is correct. X+ to the rigjht and y+ away from me as indicated by the illistration above.

So when you travel in the X+ direction, does the tool/spindle travel in that direction or the table?

I bet in your case it's the table and not the tool, otherwise you would not have the issue of the probe traveling in the "wrong" direction.

Please reply with your finding.

It is the table.

That is your problem as this is wrong.

When you look at the "Right Hand Rule" picture above, in order for the tool to move to the right in relation to the machine table/work piece (+ direction), the machine table has to move to the left. You need to fix this otherwise your machine will not work properly.

The X and Y are reversed along with the limit and homing values. All is good now. Thanks again for your help.

The CNC12 Pro License does let you probe the angle but you have to apply the CSR angle manually. With the "Find Angle" probing cycle of the ProbeApp you get the option to set the CSR angle automatically:

Thanks Swissi... I have been using the master tool height method on my bench mill for some time. Keith pointed out the reason to re-measure the master tool heigh is due to the fact that you will get different responses if z home is not repeatable... I missed that as I was thinking the master tool never changes. Since you are comparing master tool length to the tool being measured, you have to remeasure if z home is not repeatable.

Someday I will retry the z home reference method again... I couldn't make it work the last time. Most likely user error. BTW... I love the app... Finding new ways to use it all the time!

Thanks.. Richard
