Huanyang HY03D023B, 12000RPM Max Speed

The speed can be adjusted correctly from the front panel. The model I have is not in the manual. PD003,PD004,PD005 cannot be set to 60. The spindle will not turn at these settings. These are the only setting I have changed after a Factory Reset.

If done a number of these drives and have not had the problems you are having.

How about a shot of the motor nameplate.
I am wondering whether or not you have a knock off of a Huan Yang inverter. Where did you get it?

Thank you for posting the nameplate!
I assume this machine came with the VFD and Spindle.
The nameplate clearly suggests it is to operate at a fixed frequency of 300hz and spindle speed of 18K rpm
It appears the VFD is locked and will not let you lower that frequency.
If you happen to go below it, it may overheat.

So it appears in your case, its spindle on and spindle off. No variable speed.
300hz=18Krpm

I would wager there must be some sort of password protection set in the VFD.

You can *try* and ask the manufacturer if you can very the speed of the spindle motor, my guess is a no because the cooling fan won't spin fast enough to keep the motor cool.

He stated the speed can be adjusted from the front panel on the VFD just fine. I don’t think it’s software locked. The fan should be independent of the spindle speed, my HSD spindle has a cooling fan that runs independently from the spindle.

Do you happen to have another spindle laying around you could try? Without an exact manual for your VFD it’s hard to know if it’s even programmed correctly. Contact the machine manufacturer and ask them for a manual.
