Pwm Output on ribbon cable
Hi everyone,
I have a simple question.
I have read on the forum as well as on the internet that pwm is only available on ouput no 2 of db25 and common is also there.
First question is, does the common of db25 is 5v or 24v or for both?
The second question is, can i use the pwm output from the ribbon cable which feed the ouput no 2 relay.(actually i dont want to use db25 port), so can i use pwm on ribbon cable or relay no 2 after cut it with the relay? And if i can use it so can i use the 24v common with this 5v pwm of this ribbon cable?

PWM is too fast for a relay. There is no reason to continue on this course. The better option is to describe the problem you are trying to solve and let forum members suggest more viable solutions.

Re: Pwm Output on ribbon cable
PWM is only available on the DB25.
DB25 pins 18-25 are common for the DB25 IO
As Eng199 said, its better for you to provide a clear picture of what you are trying to accomplish.

Re: Pwm Output on ribbon cable
I know pwm is too fast for the relat and i dont want to use the relay, i just want to use that wire which goes to this relay after cut it from the relay. I am just asking, if i cut the ribbon cable which feed output 2 of the relay board so can i use use that ribon cable signal for pwm? Because i dont want to use db25 connector, so instead this can i use ribbon cable wire for pwm?
Would the pwn signal comes in the ribbon cable also which connect with output 2 relay?

Re: Pwm Output on ribbon cable
My simple question is that if i cut the wire which connect to relay 2, and after that i configure pwm enable in the wizard, so would the pwm signal come in that cut wire? Can i use that wire as pwm instead of using db25?

Cheers,

Confidence is the feeling you have before you fully understand the situation.
I have CDO. It's like OCD, but the letters are where they should be.

I didn't not understand WHY you won't use the DB25?alimumtaz101 wrote: ↑Sat Jul 31, 2021 9:40 am My simple question is that if i cut the wire which connect to relay 2, and after that i configure pwm enable in the wizard, so would the pwm signal come in that cut wire? You need the DB25 PWM signal and you need the COM from pins 18-25 on the DB25. You can buy a DB25 male breakout board from Amazon for about $12. You could buy a DB25 connector and solder the two needed wired and plug just the connector in.
So, again please explain why you will not use the DB25?

Re: Pwm Output on ribbon cable
Hi marty,
Actualy in my panel there is no space on db25 connector side, the duct is attached with it and i dont want to cut the duct, that is why i was thinking that maybe pwm is also availabe on ribon cable which is connected to output 2.

Re: Pwm Output on ribbon cable
The relay output is disabled when PWM is active. This was done so the relay doesn't buzz.

Re: Pwm Output on ribbon cable
I used one of these DB25 connectors without the shell and cut off the leads from the RJ48 connector to pull the PWM output off of the DB25 pins.
