I am tight for space in my box, and wanted to avoid connecting my leadshine drives through a breakout board to 5 volt Parallel Port Interface, So I purchased the CNC4PC C86_Acorn board.
I am having an issue with the c86-Acorn Board cycles continually.
- Status LED goes green and Relay Closes cable Detect LED off
- Relay opens Status Led goes out, cable detect red LED lights, relay opens
- This continues indefinitely both on start-up and after CNC12 connects
LED on my Leadsine Driver CS-D808 is Green - No Fault, And Voltage reading between ALM+ / ALM- is constant 5 volts
I have the following items:
* Acorn – Rev 4
* C86 Acorn Board - https://www.cnc4pc.com/c86-connector-bo ... oller.html
* C34-HS2 board - https://www.cnc4pc.com/c34hs2-board.html
* Drives are Leadshine CS-D508 and CS-D808 - http://www.leadshine.com/productdetail. ... el=cs-d508
ON CS34-HS2 Jumpers are set to:
* Hard Enable (2-3)
* Step & Direction (2-3) (2-3)
* Active Alarm LOW (1-2) – (tried high as well 2-3)
* Alarm Terminals are wired to Drive ALM+ / ALM-
* I have not touched the variable resister (does something need to be done with it)
On C86
* Cable Detect is ON (2-3) ONLY for X-axis all others off (1-2)
* Acorn Enable is on (2-3) (tried off as well 1-2)
* No Fault is jumpered (tried removing as well)
* 24 volt is provided at power terminals
* Relay Vin goes to GND
Following Wiring and testing a C86ACORN - https://www.cnc4pc.com/blog/post/wiring ... a-C86acorn
Step 1 complete successfully
Step 2 cannot be completed as cycling starts after rebooting with cable detect enabled for X-Axis
Also Tried with:
* C86 Normally open relay terminal goes to acorn IN5
* E-stop not in place so IN8 is wired to GND
Since Drive LED is Green and ALM remains High, I assume all wiring on my drive is ok.
Wondering if it is a jumper issue, or if I am missing something else.

Re: Acorn and C86_acorn Board
I have to say you are way over complicating the system. You can soldier wires directly to a DB25 connector and you will save a bunch of room not to mention a bunch of money and headaches. From your pic you have plenty of room to do this. You don’t have to use the standard DB25 breakout board that everyone recommends that sticks out 2” or so. Please do yourself a favor and wire the drives per Centroids wiring diagram using the DB25 socket.

I am having the exact same issue in my machine. Was this ever resolved?
