HELP, Auto Homing and Auto Squaring with Software axis motor Pairing. (Resolved)

Post by Ali »

Hi,
I have an issue with automatic homing and squaring, Upon initial power up and after “cycle start” Machine moves Z axis first to seek the Z axis home switch and back off then Machine moves X axis next to seek the home switch and back off. Machine moves the Gantry Y axis with both motors paired until the Slave Home Switch is detected, backs off the Slave Switch to clear. No problem to this step.
My problem start when the Y axis motors unpairs to move the Master motor independently until Master home switch is tripped and backs of to clear, however the master motor never moves although in the screen the cnc12 software shows the y axis is moving, i have to manually press the y axis master home switch to finish the program.
Any suggestions.
All my selections and connections as requested in the manual.
Regards.

I'm hoping one of the router guys that has successfully setup Autosquaring will chime in.

In the mean time, double check the guide and retrace your steps in setting it up:

Problem solved. Accomplished by removing the jumper between the paired axis enable signals, although its required as it’s mentioned in the Paring and Squaring manual if you using an axis motor drive that makes use of the enable signal.!!!!

I have the same problem. I am using stepper online closed loop steppers which have the enable signal inverted. Works without the jumper wire installed. The problem I am having is that the gantry is tight, and when homing the master axis, the slaved axis is dragged out of position, just as described in the manual.

I appreciate any help in figuring out how to keep the slaved axis enabled while the master axis is homing.

Thanks
Kirst
