Lost connection again

Referring to this older post, this has been an ongoing issue since the beginning.

The above thread will give some background as to steps already taken to remedy the issue. In a nutshell:
My CNC PC is running a clean install of Windows 10 with no anti-virus software ever being installed. It has been configured as per the instructions on the Centroid site. Windows Defender is turned OFF. In the above thread you will see while troubleshooting I discovered something called a "domain firewall" had been turned on. It has been switched off.
I have tried two different shielded ethernet cables; the one that came in the Acorn kit as well as one I purchased.
My CNC PC has 2 ethernet adapters with 2 corresponding RJ45 ports on the back. I have tried each in turn, disabling the unused one. WIFI is turned off.
I have attached a fresh report as well as screenshots showing ping results, firewall settings, etc.
What I find is even if the ping test shows connectivity, CNC12 software will either not connect at all or it will connect but no axis will move, or things will work normally for a while then suddenly axes will stop responding, or things appear to work as normal but checking the error log shows multiple re-sends.

Re-seating the ethernet cable on the Beagle Bone board on the Acorn seems to temporarily resolve the issue leading me to believe the problem is in that port or the Beagle Bone itself. Re-seating the cable at the PC end has no effect. Although I do not have another Win 10 PC with ethernet to hook up to the Acorn, I have successfully connected my CNC PC to my home network with both ethernet adapters in turn and have been able to access resources and move files across with no issue.
I am about to purchase a replacement Acorn kit per the warranty instructions.

On some of my computers, I have two ethernet cards. One of them is configured for my local network. That card is assigned a static address on the 192.168.x.x network. It has a subnet mask of 255.255.255.0 or /24, depending on the allowed setup parameters, which limits the subnet size to 254 possible devices. It also has a gateway address that points to the router's local address. The card dedicated to the Acorn is assigned the static address of 10.168.41.1. It has a subnet mask of 255.255.255.0 or /24, depending on the allowed setup parameters. NO GATEWAY address is entered. The routing table shows NO connectivity from the 10.168.41.x network to the outside world. The Acorn sees only the PC attached to it and an expansion 16x16 board, if one is installed in that particular system. That configuration works for me.

I don't have any ethernet drops in my shop so I only use one port on the PC to connect to the Acorn and have the other disabled.
I had connected my CNC PC to my home network via WIFI but I shut WIFI off in troubleshooting this issue so have just gone back to "sneakernet" with a USB drive in the interim to get files from my CAD/CAM workistation to my CNC PC.
My adapter is set to 10.168.41.1, 255.255.255.0, no gateway.
With no WIFI turned on and the other ethernet port disabled and nothing plugged into it, my CNC PC is in effect an island connected only to the Acorn.

You have MPU and PC Resends that need to be addressed. Excerpted from your report:
These errors mean the PC and Acorn are not communicating properly. Usually bad ethernet cable, ethernet cable placed very close to cables that create electrical noise, poor cabinet wiring, PC with a flaky ethernet port.

Are you using the SHIELDED ethernet cable that came with the Acorn kit? Have you tried another cable? You can buy them from Amazon. Search Shielded Ethernet cable.
What PC are you using? Is it a stand alone PC Or a laptop?
Are all your PC Ethernet drivers updated?
Please post a picture of your control cabinet?
Are you using a VFD? What brand? Are you using VFD cable from the VFD to the motor?

In my post I said I have tried both the ethernet cable that came with the kit as well as a new shielded cable which I purchased. Same errors with both. There are photos of my cabinet wiring on the Google photos page linked in my signature.
My VFD is an Omron 3g3jz. I used shielded cable to and from the VFD with the drain connected to the chassis ground.
I updated everything before I turned off updates and removed the PC from the outside world, networkly speaking. It is a stand alone PC, not a laptop.
It has two ethernet ports (RJ45 ports). I have tried both, alternately disabling the one not used. WIFI has been disabled. All firewalls are turned off. I never installed any anti virus software and Windows defender is off.
I have successfully connected this PC with both RJ45 ports to my home network and have been able to transmit and receive files with no problem.
When I re-seat the ethernet cable on the Beagle Bone board on the Acorn, I will temporarily resolve the connectivity issue which leads me to believe the problem is in the Beagle Bone board itself.

I took a quick look.
First there is no need to put all those jumpers on the DB25. Acorn has them tied internally.

I would disconnect everything from Acorn EXCEPT only it's original power supply as it was shipped and Ethernet cable, start CNC12 and let it run a G-code program. You will likely have to change some inputs to allow CNC12 to run. Monitor the error logs. Make sure everything else in the cabinet is powered down.

If you still get comm errors then you may be right about BBG. It still could be the PC. If you have another just to test with to eliminate the possibility, that would be good. If not continue to let it run for a few hours and give it more time. If no Comm errors, then likely a cabinet wiring issue.

Where are the -step and -dir wires? I don't see them on the negative terminals of the DB25. How did you worethe Yakko drives?

Also, move that Ethernet cable away from that step down transformer in the bottom of the cabinet.

All just suggestions to try and help.

The transformer appears it might be missing a ground wire? Right most green terminal on the front

Have you powered off the VFD and cut air and checked the logs?

OK I worked on this for the past couple days and I have not had a re-send error or lost control of an axis yet.
To address Marty's notes and document the steps taken:

I removed the jumpers from the DB25.
The schematic I used to wire up the Yako drivers was S14976 as per Shawn M's suggestion from an earlier post when I was first doing this conversion.
I grounded the step-down transformer from the green terminal to my Earth buss bar. (New photos added to my Google photos page)
The blue ethernet cable at the bottom of the cabinet in the photo wasn't hooked up, it's the spare used in testing just stored in the cabinet. The ethernet cable in use is black and is routed well away from the transformer. (I photographed it as well and that has been added to the Google Photo page)
I disconnected power to the VFD, pulled the DB25 and H4 connectors. Powered up Acorn and PC and everything connected right away with no problem.
I reconnected H4 and the DB25 (with the jumpers removed), powered back up everything connected and I ran a test job with the VFD not powered up so no spindle rotation, just axis movement. I checked the error logs and all was well.
Today On the shielded cables running from the VFD to Acorn I disconnected the drain ground from the metal back plate, (what the Acornn and everything else is mounted to), and instead connected the drain wire on the VFD side of the cable to the Earth terminal on the VFD.
I ran the same job today with the VFD powered up and the spindle running, cutting "air". I checked the error log and all is well.
I have attached a fresh report and will re-post if the errors return. Maybe it was the jumpers on the DB25? Maybe it was the grounding of the drain on the shielded cables running from the VFD to the Acorn?
FYI: The cable used to connect the VFD to the Acorn is West Penn #3751 2 pair, 18AWG shielded cable. I have a partial spool of it from an old job I used to have back in the late 90's.
