Router VCP "SET WCS Z0" and "Auto Z to PLATE" not working

Post by BendingUnit22 »

My "SET WCS Z0" and "Auto Z to PLATE" buttons on my Router VCP don't function. Anyone else experiencing this?

I'm running an Acorn with CNC12 v4.64. The "SET WCS XY0" button works fine. While the problem buttons show animations when clicked, they don't do anything. I must have something set wrong.

looks like you restored a report from a mill installation when you installed CNC12 Router?

You can't use a Mill report.zip file with the Router version of CNC12. Mill report.zip files are for Mill CNC12, Router report.zip files are for Router CNC12.

Updating from Mill CNC12 to Router CNC12

1.) make screen shots of existing Mill Wizard screens and make a fresh report.zip file
2.) rename existing cncm directory
3.) install the lastest version of Router CNC12
4.) Use the new Router Wizard to set up the machine configuration, press write settings to cnc control and follow instructions, then install ROUTER license file.
5.) If desired, copy G code programs, Intercon program, tool library, WCS file, any custom macros, from old cncm directory to the new one. reboot cnc12

Ok, I will try that. I don't recall getting any complaints from the software when I used it, so I'm not sure how the end user is supposed to know not to do that.
