Your video shows the control rigid tapping 5 full depth holes.
Seems my buddie's control can do this. Where it is having trouble is peck tapping a hole. More than 2 pecks.

The more pecks you do, the shallower the first peck is.

E.g. if you tap a 1/2" deep hole in two pecks, the first one goes from +0.100" to -0.250". If you tap the same hole in five pecks, the first one goes from +0.100" to -0.100".

Chances are, you have the parameters characterizing spindle deceleration (P37, P68, P69 and P82) set so CNC12 expects that the Z distance traveled while decelerating to a stop will exceed the total Z distance in the first peck.
