Eth 1616 as a relay board

Post by mghood »

I was wondering ifthe eth 1616 i/o board could be used as a fault monitoring board for the Tecnic Clearpath fault circuits? I have several unused inputs that I won't use? would it work?

Yes. That's what it's designed for, to add Features via additional I/O

If I bring in each motor's HLFB signal to 4 inputs of the eth1616 board what function do I select in the wizard to shut down the machine. I haven't seen any examples on schematics that show its use for that purpose. It sounds too easy.

Thank you for the reply. I've seen several pictures of using a seperate relay cards as I did in Mach 3 but didn't think of using the extra inputs for the same thing. Thank you for the help
