EMCO PC55 mill, Servo card ribbon cable pinouts to ACORN controller

Post by bj_jcollins »

Does anyone have the pinouts from an EMCO PC55 Mills servo driver card 16pin connector?

I just got my new acorn controller and am hoping to reuse the factory Driver card and 3-phase stepper motors. The factory card has a 16 pin ribbon cable input with the top wire #1 being RED.

I am hoping for something simple like, "#1red ribbon from emco card to Acorn Terminal st1
#2 Ribbon from emco card to Acorn Terminal DR1
#3 ect.....
#4 not used.

I can understand the info in a format like above, and know it's a lot to ask for.

Thanks
Jim

onmy pc55 i replaced those drivers and motors with closed loop leadshine units and im happy with the much better performance of them. i recommend going that route.

CNCKeith,

THANK YOU for the QUICK reply.

That is most likely the BEST route to go for long-term use if the little frame of this mill will work. I am not sure this little mill will have the travels that I need after it is fixtured and tooled up. Hoping to be able to try it out a little to prove it will work before spending many more dollars.

Do you recall the model numbers of the Leadshine units just in case?

Leadshine driver. CS-D508

Leadshine motor. CS-M22430

motor is direct bolt up. all i had to do was bore the stock emco pulley to match the Leadshine motor shaft diameter.
