Clean out Question

Post by lavrgs »

I'm new to Intercon and am trying to understand it a bit better.
I created geometry

as a Path. Now I want to remove the material inside. What is the approach I should take?

post a fresh report.zip and the Intercon program (.icn) that you are using.

As well as providing what Keith requested, you might like to review the Cleanout Canned Cycle noting the first move must be linear. You can then enter Arcs or Linear moves to plot your irregular shape to machine.
Hope this helps

I will look into the Clean Out command - Can the existing code be embedded?

EDIT - I added a second intercon file after I did the clean out first. It's not really CLEAN - meaning there's a lot of monkey motion...The G Code probably could be cleaned up but I would have to spend some time learning

After playing around it seems that using the cleanout before doing a rough/final on the profile might be best. Thanks Nigelo.
I wasn't able to find a way to move the original code into the Clean Out boundary.
The "monkey motion" was improved by making the boundary a closed loop - I had extended the final line to go beyond intersecting.

lavrgs:

In your Intercon program you are turning cutter comp before the clean-out cycle. The clean-out cycle automatic compensates for the diameter of the cutter. Remove the Comp Right line. If you changed the size of the cutter diameter you need to re-post the Intercon file. I changed your Intercon file line 18 back to X-.400 Y.400 the same as the start point it graphs correctly that way.
