CNC12 lathe demo?

Post by Muzzer »

I have the CNC12 milling demo installed on a laptop, which is sometimes useful when I am away from the machine. Is there a similar demo for CNC12 lathe? I tried to install the CNC12 lathe s/w but didn't see an option to get the demo version so of course it times out looking for an Acorn to talk to.

Thx

Use the CNC12 servo version. That has installers for both mill and lathe demo modes.
Cheers,

Thanks, Tom. That sounds encouraging although I don't understand what you are referring to.

Do I simply download and install the "normal" installation program? I couldn't see any servo version as such and I didn't see any obvious options within the install program.

I followed the "download CNC12 V4.64" link https://www.centroidcnc.com/centroid_di ... loads.html

currently the CNC12 mill and lathe emulator is only available in the CNC12 installer for Oak and ALlin1DC cnc control boards. you CAN install that on your DESKTOP pc (not the cncpc that you are running Acorn with) and you can share Intercon programs with Acorn CNC12.

in the next release of cnc12 we are combining the Acorn version of CNC12 with the Oak/Allin1dc/MPU11 version of CNC12, so it will be one installer for all of our cnc control products, until that time you can install the 'demo' version of Lathe CNC12 using the v4.20 link for Oak/Allin1DC/Mpu11 that is below the Acorn installer on the same page.

Thanks, Keith. Yes, that worked. I can play with conversational away from the machine now.
