Hello, eveyone

I.m using FreeCAD 0.19v :?:

After creating my project It gives me several different format to export my project. So wondering which would be the correct format To export so the Acorn can understand the g-code, *.cnc it’s not in the option to export. What other format can I use to export the project For centroid Acorn Router Pro 4.46v

I will appreciate any help..

Thanks

Is the FreeCAD software CAD and CAM software like fusion 360? If there is no CAM portion with the software you can’t export any file type to load into Acorn. You need something to convert your drawing into g code. Those extensions in your pics are CAD extensions not g code extensions.

Your only choice there is Autodesk DXF 2D and use the Intercon DXF Import feature to generat ethe G-code from the 2D geometry. As Shawn pointed out, FreeCAD is CAD software. It creates geometry and the export formats are just other geometry formats. You need something another piece of software that converts the geometry into machining instructions - a CAM package.

Fusion360 includes a 2.5D CAM package in entry level package. There are other CAM packages out there including the more expensive ones like MasterCAM, SolidCAM, EdgeCAM. In most cases these are CAM packages only and require a separate CAD package like FreeCAD or SolidWorks.

CAD does the drawing, then you have to process it through a CAM program like Sheetcam, CAMBam and others.
CAD does not create the G code. CAM does.

If you want CAD/CAM for routers, look at the Vectric line of products.

You could also check out DeskProto CAM package which has a basic free licence as well as Hobby/Educational and Commercial versions. I haven't used this myself as I have no need but you have multiple CAD import options and a specific Centroid G-Code generator.

Hope this helps

Thanks, all your fast reply guys.

i'm very happy that i went with Centriod Acorn Products., Your support is outstanding.

I'm reviewing all three CAD/CAM.
FreeCAD
VCarve Desktop
DeskProto V7

What i like about FreeCAD it's not because it free, But all the cool feature & tools, And potenial of program it to your content.
Vcarve Desktop it's other one., it has all G-code format for different CNC controller., Including Centriod Acorrn.
