Re: conection two MPG wheels with acorn (Resolved)
You can not use two hand wheels with Acorn. period.
The one encoder port is for a spindle encoder.
NPN sensors work with Acorn inputs. Not PNP

And you need the E6B2-CWZ1X encoder for the spindle. Acorn uses line driver quadrature encoders.
Cheers,
Tom
Confidence is the feeling you have before you fully understand the situation.
I have CDO. It's like OCD, but the letters are where they should be.

Hi Marty i remember you told me about use only one PMG that is ok but for manual drive and move with axis can i use one PMG for come closer with tool and for manually constant drive use buttons and drive only one axis? i am here the buttons are connect in different way i am not familiar with any eletronic conection so i look for only answers and possibilities , did you check up if is possible to connect the sub.control panel like i send you on picture? thank you

I may be Cap't Obvious here, but why swim against the current? Use the Centroid wireless MPG Pendant. I use it often with my lathe, both the MPG wheel (one axis at a time) or the constant feed button. Works like a charmromanfox68 wrote: ↑Mon May 10, 2021 8:59 am Hi Marty i remember you told me about use only one PMG that is ok but for manual drive and move with axis can i use one PMG for come closer with tool and for manually constant drive use buttons and drive only one axis? i am here the buttons are connect in different way i am not familiar with any eletronic conection so i look for only answers and possibilities , did you check up if is possible to connect the sub.control panel like i send you on picture? thank you

If you are intent on building your own control panel, you are going to need more inputs than Acorn has. You will need Ether1616
You have one encoder port. That is for a Spindle Encoder
If you want to experiment that's fine and up to you. We can't tell you what to do.
I would abandon the idea and buy the Wireless MPG.
I don't know what you are trying to accomplish with "TAPER" buttons/knobs. You do that with the CNC CAD/CAM software. I(We) can't tell you want to choose that will work for your particular application. That is up to you. There is some Engineering that goes into selecting drives/motors for the given application. You can search the internet to find similar machines and try to see what is working for them and do something similar. We can't engineer the system for you. We can make suggestions but in the end, its up to you to make the decisions what will work for you.

Hi Gary i like to know more about by you use wireless pendant mostly i here that wireless has time detailed so i am not sure definitely is very comfortable otherwise i have no problem with wire ,interesting me the " constant feed button " you press and hold or you deactivate with other button and button work for axis which is switch on ? is also button for back movement of axis? you know you need go forvard and back , ? i am start my new project convert smole emcomat7 lathe to CNC i have no problem to wiring if i have proper diagram but i am not handy and familier with electronic and figure how to combine electronic components so is very hard for me to tell what type of parts i need to let build my dream and workGary Campbell wrote: ↑Mon May 10, 2021 10:25 amI may be Cap't Obvious here, but why swim against the current? So i hope i find some good soul which will have no problem to help me with this kind of job .Nou i am in proces to build all things for CNC by mecanical side ?fit ball screws ,mount motors ,encoder, limit switches acc... proces go slow but forvard and in time when i have to wait because some parts are in manufacture proces or i waiting before arrive i try chuse and learn about some operation system .So any help i will appreciate regards Roman
