Is there anyone who can send me a simple CAM generated program to see what seems different in one t hat I currently generate in Alphacam?
Basically all I need as an example is say a bolt hole circle of 5mm dia holes drilled 10mm deep on a PCD of 60mm. The block is a square of 100mm and its 50mm deep. This way I can put both programs up in my editer to see discrepancies. I am sure my post processor needs tweaking but by having a small test program I can eliminate any other issues on my acorn system. It would also help if I know what post processor has been used on the sample program. Any help greatly appreciated,

you can generate a program using Centroid's Intercon conversational software, intercon creates g code that is what CNC12 likes, so make your post produce g code like intercon and you are good to go. also the CNC12 operator manuals have great examples of all the centroid supported G and M codes, and the Acorn software comes with many g code program examples as well.

Thanks Keith. When I bought my system I was going to get the intercon but as I had Alphacam which I used very successfully on my old Prototrak system for many years you said I didn't need the intercon. I will take a look at the example programs on CNC12 but my question still stands for anyone out there who is running their own CAD\CAM could you please send me a very simple program as above just to test on my machine please.

Acorn includes Intercon by default. If you have the Free version, you are limited to only a few lines of Intercon code, but more than enough to do a bolt hole circular array and post it to g-code.

I have no understanding of post processors...I have one I used for Mach3 - I should open it up and take a look...however when I evaluate it what should I be looking at?
