EGND on acorn board?

Not silly question.
EGN is Earth Ground. So yes.
If you mount the Acorn on metal stand offs and those stand offs are mounted to a metal panel, that panel should be bonded to the service ground. You accomplish the same thing.

Acorn COM and Earth ground should be connected together at the Acorn Power supply.

Thanks for quick replay... problem is that I have plastic stand offs so I have to either make one metal stand off or run a wire to it. But that is my problem now... thanks again.. really appreciate quick support

Eground is actually brought to the board by its power connector. That should suffice. Or do be safe run a jumper from the power supply Acorn connector Eground terminal to the pad on the PC board.

In PCB design, parts that are connected by circuit traces are given "signal" names. When adding screw holes to a PCB, you can connect them to a signal or leave them unconnected. What the EGND on the screw pad refers to is that it is connected internally on the board to anything else labeled EGND. You don't need to worry about anything because the screw pads are tied electrically internally on the board to EGND - same as the ground input on the power connector which you should have connected already.
