Oh man, nevermind, it was my fault. I guess the last time I redid the whole wizard I forgot to set the encoder to on...

Yep, check it's on in Spindle setup....

Yep, the job works now. By the way, the original file is configured in inches (in the header block) despite being called MM. I changed that. Otherwise you get a fault error.

I, am not metric minded....I'm metrically challenged.
You're welcome.....

Re: Update from older software version
Definitely thanks for all the help! Probably not the last thing I'll need help with but I have a few other challenges to work out with this lathe before I get it setup for my work. A compact lathe with a turret is not ideal for long drill bits but it will work. I just received the pendant too. Super fast shipping.

Re: Update from older software version
I guess when you are as obsessive as I am, you have no choice but to fix! As a software engineer, that helps in my day job
Here's the little pawn, plus a video:
Obviously I need to work out the feeds and speeds but...it works!
Now I need to figure out where to find the right tool holders for those ID tools. The ER16 collets just take too much space. The pendant worked like a charm by the way.

Re: Update from older software version
Well, on to the next problem I'm hoping you guys will have an idea here because I don't know where to start looking and if something is not configured properly.
I tried to do a simple Intercon program to test threading. Here's the result:
That thread is supposed to be M10x1.0 but it's completely messed up, as if it lost position on the subsequent passes and was offset. Not even sure if the pitch was even correct to start with on the first pass, it's hard to tell. I tried it 2 times with same result.
Here's what it's supposed to look like (using a die):
Attached the program and the latest report. Another strange thing is that the cutoff tool creates a convex surface on the back of the piece. You might see it a tiny bit on the photo, but it's pretty obvious in real life, at least 0.5mm arc. I shook everything, holders, turret, inserts, chuck and part, everything is on solid and nothing is loose. No idea if both issues are related or not. Facing and turning seems fine and right on point.
Any ideas?

Re: Update from older software version
I just ran it again to observe a few things and it does set the feed to 1.0mm/rev as it should to cut the 1mm pitch thread, and it looks like it's going ok until halfway through and you can hear the sound change when it starts taking a bite in the wrong place. I even set a Z clearance to 10mm on the thread cycle to be sure that wasn't the problem. Convex cutoff is also consistently the same.
