You could Pay Centroid to do it for you if you are not comfortable with it.
You will have a custom PLC program
Where did the machine come from? North Carolina?

I'm in the middle of the update and it's a bit iffy. The Wizard menus are pretty different and things are missing. I'll add some questions about a few settings later but I went through all the Wizard pages and reentered all the numbers. Some are beyond the new limits (axes 3 and 4, probably the turret I'm guessing). But then I tried restoring the report file. Probably should not have done both but I tried it. It set some really bogus values into the axis turns ratios. Maybe the versions are too far apart and the file is not compatible enough? I'm going to reset them manually and not use the restore again.

Do not restore the report file. You are copying parts of the old software on top of the new....start over.
You should have taken screen shots of your old wizard pages and then renamed the original directory something like cnct-4.13. then installed a FRESH 4.64 copy of CNC12. Then started it and hand keyed in all your settings in the wizard screens. This should get your lathe working minus the turret.

I just helped a fellow on this forum do the same thing with an Emcoturn 120, newer version of your machine, but similar turret. Search the forum for Emcoturn 120 and read up.

That's exactly what I did. Like I wrote above, I went through all the pages are reentered the numbers.

The result is this: with the old numbers from the original Wizard pages (which I photographed), the jogging is completely wrong. When the DRO indicates a movement of about 0.2mm (x100 setting in incremental), it moves at least 1mm (very visible). With the new numbers from the file import (which are 5 to 6 times larger), the movement *seems* to be right, but I can't check for sure.

I will try to start over without importing the file afterwards and see what the jogging looks like. (note that the update videos mention the import as a viable update from 4.2 to 4.5).

The turret indeed does not work at all and I don't know how to integrate the old turret files and settings into this new version.

I don't really want to pay Centroid to do it for me since this lathe works with the previously installed version. I'd most likely revert back if I can't make it work with this one. I'll go back to try again then do a search for the turret setup.

You say file import. If you restored a report over the top of the new software, that was a mistake.
Take the time to search this forum for Emcoturn 120, it was very recent that I helped a fellow in the same position you are in.

You didn't answer my question. Where did this machine come from? North Carolina?

The machine did not come from North Carolina, why?

OK, so I deleted the new folder and reinstalled. Went through the wizard and entered all the original numbers. I did not restore the report. I went back into the wizard as I had mistakenly inverted one axis. The max rate number for each axis had changed from the 2540 I set them to (see photo for original settings) to some astronomically high number. When I tried to readjust them to 2540, it gave me an error message saying the number had to be between 1 and 617 (??). I do not know where that 617 is coming from.

So tried again, and it's the same as before. With the original numbers as per my photos, the movement with the 0.4xxxx turns ratio is wrong and much larger than it should be. Would there be a difference between the beta version and newer versions that makes the values used by the beta version not usable here?

I restored 4.13 just for peace of mind and so I could sleep tonight, and it's working again like it did before, with correct distances, and turret.

Here are brand new photos of what I see when I go back into the wizard. These same numbers with 4.64 just don't work. Some of them are out of range or don't stick, and the turns ratio numbers just lead to too much movement of the axis, maybe around 6 times more.

I noticed something, but it could just be a typo:

Under the "Overall Turns Ratio" header on the left, version 4.13 has "mm/turn or rev/deg" while 4.64 has "mm/turn or deg/rev". (the second one is inverted)

16000 step per rev is incorrect
