X0 & X-direction reeset
In the middle of running a g-code program my X0 and X-direction are reset thereby destroying the rest of the program. It seems to b e random. I have tried several things like (1) restart Acorn and cnc12, (2) restart computer (3) Set windows 10 as per Marty's garage latest set & bench test video and (4) manually reset XO. None of which consistently solved the problem. It only resolved in some random sequence of the above activities. I have attached the most recent report file. All help appreciated.

Re: X0 & X-direction reeset
Not clear on what is happening.
X0 arbitrarily resetting part zero and the X axis randomly changing direction doesn't make sense.
How are you setting things up? Can you capture it in a video and upload it to YouTube and share a link here?
Please post the g code you are running.
Have you tried another program to see if it runs fine.
How long has this machine been running? Just getting it going? First time running programs?
Is this a router or a mill? Report indicates mill.
Your motor steps per rev at 200 are too low. Minimum is 1600

Re: X0 & X-direction reeset
Machine is a router that has run satisfactorily for over 1 year.
I use pairing, auto home to switches, auto square and software travel limits all of which seem to operate correctly. Recently completed annual maintenance: re-squaring, tramming, axis travel re-calibration and cnc12 update.
Attached g-code was generated with Vectrix Vcarve design and make software. I have also included a custom module for setting Z0. These all seem to be ok.
When I start a job I (1) reset machine home (2) reset all 0 (WCS) (3) reset Z0 with custom macro, touch plate and machine reference touch plate with the custom macro (taken from Centronic User Community messages) and (4) load and execute g-code. The resetting occurs randomly during g-code execution.
I am beginning to suspect electrical connections in view of the age of the machine. I am undertaking testing home switches and touch plates.
Thanks!

Re: X0 & X-direction reeset
hi, what kind of motors and drives are being used? report shows steps per rev set to 200. minimum that works satisfactorily with cnc12 is 1600 steps per rev.

Re: X0 & X-direction reeset
I noticed the same thing. And the fact that the overall turns numbers are all exactly the same for x, y and z is odd also.cnckeith wrote: ↑Wed Apr 07, 2021 3:40 pm hi, what kind of motors and drives are being used? report shows steps per rev set to 200. minimum that works satisfactorily with cnc12 is 1600 steps per rev.

Re: X0 & X-direction reeset
OK. 200 has worked in the past but I will reset controllers for 1600 and the counts per rev with the wizard. Then check to see if that solved the problem. My stepper drive is a stepperonline DM542T and the stepper motors are stepperonline 23hs45-3504s. Will return after adjusting counts/rev.
