I am a first time centroid acorn diy guy. I am just about finished with my install I have not powered up at all. I have a local guy that i want to do quality control before I power up. however i have limited access to him. My issue is the end stops I am using they are Omron Automation And Safety EE-SX671. they accept 24vdc I know how to get power to them but they have a signal wire. I have six of these 2 on each axis . also prox sensors for home limit. problem 2 is the drives and there alarm circuit. the drives are Rattam 2Hss86 hybrid servo drivers. I am not a electronics guy so need help in terms i can understand. I have read both copies of the centroid library for e stop and limits I just dont understand how to execute what i am seeing. have watched marty's cnc garage but still not seeing any specific to my situation. Any help is appreciated

post a fresh report.zip for good support so we can see your settings

Like GBCues says, we need more info. Follow that post. We can't "SEE" what you "SEE"
Here is a link to the datasheet: http://www.farnell.com/datasheets/206898.pdf

Have you done the basic bench test? Did you connect one drive and motor and get it turning?
OR
Did you wire everything up hoping it all works?

I'm not sure I'd trust a photo micro sensor as a limit switch in a dusty or dirty environment. They are pretty sensitive to their surroundings and it doesn't take much to trip them. Am I to understand you have 6 photo sensors AND proximity switches on the same machine?

Ok i am a lot further then i was a few days ago so here we go. I have bench tested my nema 34 12nm motors and my rattan 2HSS86 drive. all three rotate. the problem is they rotate only to 75% federate then it sends the drive into alarm ( more than 3 blinks per/second the alarm is described in the attachment). I am using 4.37 rotations per/inch at 3200 pulse and the rotation is pretty close. If i disconnect the motor power and encoder the centroid send the drive into alarm. I am still in benchtest mode and am not connected to the machine. I changed from 200,000KHZ to 100,000Khz no change. The truth is this motor should rotate at least 500 rpm or more and i am nowhere near that. I used marty's method for the Leadshine 580 Drive and the 25 pin . that got me to rotation. The drawing S14973 did not work i used the acorn 5v power supply but found that the 25 pin supplies that. help thanks !

I'd start by setting the dip switches on the drives to 4000 steps per rev and then set the wizard to 4000 steps per rev and try that. Leave the step rate at 100,000 kHz where you have it now. It looks like you have the fast jog rate set at 20 ipm. Anytime you disconnect power or the encoder it will cause an alarm.

Thanks I will try that.

As for the alarm I would Power down disconnect the motor power and encoder. power up reset and move that axis and it would alarm only at 75% or higher. I think that points to the relationship between the acorn and the drive eliminating the motor.

Have you tried to just turn off the alarm input to the acorn? What happens then?

Its the drive that is in alarm the acorn remains in green mode
