Up and running - not so difficult

Greetings all,
I recently decided to move on from MACH3 to Acorn so I purchased all the items (Acorn, Ether1616, Shuttle express, new computer, touch screen monitor etc), built and wired up a new control cabinet and all the fun stuff. It really didn't take very long to do, and getting familiar with CNC12, while very different than MACH3, was pretty easy to figure out. It is pretty similar to a lot of the industrial controls I am familiar with so that may have helped the process.
I really liked the VCP feature. That allowed for easy customization of the "operator panel" and works fantastic with a touch screen monitor. That feature really adds a lot of flexibility for configuring operational controls the way I want(ed) it. Good job on that feature !!!! I have not experienced any software crashes or glitches etc. which is a relief.
So far, I would recommend Acron as a solid DIY solution for CNC. In the coming months, I will be getting into higher level stuff such as the PLC, and custom macros etc., I will let you know how that goes. Reliability seems very solid thus far.
Documentation is plentiful both in PDF and Video formats, I would strongly suggest anyone starting out to watch all the videos and read through the manuals/documents to get familiar with them.
Kudos to Centroid for doing a good job on this product!
