So my work was getting rid of this machine. At the time they where using it as a NDI machine.

So far the only thing I have added was the circuit breaker, AC contractor, Din rail power supply, and the Ether1616. I already had the Acorn board that was in my old router.

The VFD I picked to use the HSD ES915 is the FMX TD400-27P5 https://www.factorymation.com/TD400-27P5-3PH

Here are some pictures I have taken so far. https://drive.google.com/drive/u/0/fold ... jWMQf2Otwg

I have been recording a time lapse of wiring what I have so far.

The drivers didn't like centroid. I replaced with leadshine. I got them to function fine, but it was loud growling going on. I replaced one to test and that solved it. Good leadshine unit's worked smooth and quiet with the existing motors. The original power supply worked fine for me.

I saw you said that in a different post. I am planning on changing them out. So far I have good luck with Stepperonline. From what I have read they are made by leadshine.

What is on there will work, and it's not hard to determine the pulse/step. The wire with the tag to another wire in the plug supplies 5v to them. Just when it's growling upon movement, you know how to fix. The funny part is they work smooth and quiet on the axyz boards. If you buy original or copies, I don't have input on that. I just bought originals because they are not expensive.

At first I was planning on using the stock drivers. But since I am not using the stock Acorn power supply that makes it a little harder. I was thinking of just putting in a 24v to 5v converter but it just didn't feel right. For now I am going to use stepperonline DM542Y Drivers and run the motors at 4.2 amps.

Funny enough we had two of these machines at work and I always thought they sounded bad from the growling.

Did my first 240V power on last night and nothing exploded. Getting 46VDC out of the stock power supply.

I have the stock power supply and the VFD wired up to the AC contractor and I am going to have them wired in series with the E-Stop.

Made this the other day. It is for the X and Y limit switches. This will wire them in series without me having to cut off the plug. The Z axis will connect inside the cabinet.

Got the machine homing, and all 3 axis moving and calibrated. I have the steppers set to 4K steps with that and both X and Y have less .001" backlash and from what I have tell the Z has no backlash.

Great! So we can mark this issue resolved then?
